Walksafe’s founder Emma Kay was awarded Professional Security Magazine’s Women in Security’s Technical Award last night at the Women in Security awards (14th September 2023). The event was hosted at Shakespeare’s Underglobe on London’s Southbank as a stunning black-tie event. This award was presented by The British Security Industry Association for Emma Kay’s outstanding drive to the technical development and innovations that her personal safety app Walksafe+ has contributed to the security industry.
On being this year’s recipient of the award, Emma Kay said: “I’m so delighted to accept the Women in Security Awards 2023 Technical Winner. It means so much for us to be recognised as industry leaders”
Walksafe+ has been pioneering a personal safety app that rivals its counterparts by providing not only a way for friends to keep track of your journeys but provides functions to search safe routes to your destinations in real-time with their Crime Map, as well as working with a number of cities across the UK to provide “boots on the ground” resources and training for Night time economy businesses and corporate companies.
While providing an everyday version, Walksafe+ has developed a platform that can be used by big corporations to provide management called Walksafe+ Pro. This new platform allows businesses to provide radical new safety precautions for all employees. And with this recognition from the BSI, Walksafe+ looks to be able to push its Walksafe+Pro Package into the corporate world!
